Basal metabolic rate show that how much calories your body needs to proper functioning of internal organs in resting periods such as breathing, regulation of blood and fluids, exchange of gases in lungs ,food breakdown process , etc.

Basal metabolic rate measure our calories requirement per day ,By knowing your calorie intake you can control your weight loss or weight gain. This should be the first step you can take before start your fitness training.
